If your policy hasn’t started yet
You’ll get a full refund if you cancel before your policy begins.
This includes:
Policies booked to start in the future
Extensions that haven’t started yet
Just let us know as soon as you can.
If your policy has already started
Once your policy has started, we’re not able to offer a refund.
That’s because we’ve already set up your cover, including:
Issuing your insurance certificate
Sending your details to the Motor Insurance Database (MID)
Running checks on national databases
Processing your payment
Sold your car?
If you’ve sold the vehicle, cancel your policy as soon as possible.
If you don’t, and a claim is made after the sale, it could be linked to your policy.
How refunds work
If you’re eligible for a refund:
We’ll email you to confirm the amount
The money will go back to the card you used
Refunds usually take 3 to 5 working days, but it can take longer depending on your bank or bank holidays.
