Can I cancel my policy or get a refund?

Cancelling or getting a refund on a policy

If your policy hasn’t started yet

You’ll get a full refund if you cancel before your policy begins - and there's no cancellation fee.

If your policy has already started

Once your policy has started, we’re not able to offer a refund.

That’s because we’ve already set up your cover, including:

  • Issuing your insurance certificate

  • Sending your details to the Motor Insurance Database (MID)

  • Running checks on national databases

  • Processing your payment


Sold your car?

If you’ve sold the vehicle, cancel your policy as soon as possible.

If you don’t, and a claim is made after the sale, it could be linked to your policy.


How refunds work

If you’re eligible for a refund:

  • We’ll email you to confirm the amount

  • The money will go back to the card you used

Refunds usually take 3 to 5 working days, but it can take longer depending on your bank or bank holidays.
