What vehicles can Cuvva insure?

Cuvva insures cars, vans, campervans, and motorhomes. Here's everything you need to know.

You can use Cuvva's temporary insurance to drive cars, vans, campervans, and motorhomes. The quickest way to check if we can cover your vehicle is to get a quote in the app.

Here's everything you need to know about vehicle requirements (you can check driver requirements here) whether you need to drive a car, van, campervan, or motorhome 👇

Cars

We can cover most UK-registered cars. In general, the car will need to be:

  • Worth up to £60,000 (£30,000 for learners)

  • Up to 40 years old (20 years for learners)

  • In insurance group 1 to 45 (27 for learners)

We can also cover many cars with common modifications, including accessibility, safety, and security features.

We can't insure hire cars, company cars, fleet vehicles, cars used for delivery, and taxis.

Vans

We can usually insure vans that:

  • Are worth up to £40,000

  • Are in insurance groups 1 to 45

  • Vans up to 26 years

  • Are used for carriage of own goods or Class 1 business use

  • Most standard modifications are fine, including those that support mobility.

Just so you know, we can't insure company vans or fleet vans, courier or courier-branded vans, vans for hire-and-reward, vans for motor-trading, recovery vans, learner-driver vans, or impounded vans.

Full licences only, by the way. Check out full driver requirements.

Motorhomes and campervans

You can also insure motorhomes and campervans with Cuvva.

These vehicles usually need to be:

  • Worth between £3,000 and £75,000

  • Motorhomes and campervans up to 26 years old

  • Under 3,500kg

  • Purpose-built motor caravans

Full UK licences only, by the way. Check out full driver requirements.

Modifications

  • Accessibility adaptations

  • Dash cams, parking sensors, and sat navs

  • Roof racks and towbars

  • Security features like alarms and trackers

As a rule of thumb, if something was added after the vehicle left the factory, it counts as a modification.

Vehicles we can’t cover

There are a few cases where we can’t offer cover, including:

  • Hire cars or vehicles on a fleet policy

  • Company or business vehicles

  • Vehicles used for delivery, courier work, or motor trade

  • Motorbikes, scooters, or quad bikes

Other things to check

Before you buy a policy, make sure:

  • The vehicle has a valid MOT (unless you’re driving to a pre-booked test)

  • The vehicle is registered in the UK

  • All details you enter are correct

Try it in the app

We cover a wide range of vehicles, and eligibility can vary depending on the driver and the vehicle.

If you’re not sure, it’s always worth trying a quote. It only takes a few minutes.
