Which international licences you can use with Cuvva

You can use Cuvva if:

  • You have a GB DVLA licence issued in England, Scotland, or Wales

  • You have a full licence from Bulgaria, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Republic of Ireland, or Spain. We are adding even more EU licences soon

Just FYI, policy lengths are capped at 7 days for international licences. But if you need to drive for longer, you can just buy a new policy when your first one ends.

We can't insure drivers with licences from Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man. This is because these regions use different licencing authorities that don’t allow drivers (or insurers) to access their licence details online.

Just so you know, this doesn’t mean you have to be a British citizen to use Cuvva. You just need to have one of the driving licences mentioned above.

Imported cars

We can’t insure most imported cars.

Imported cars are registered differently to UK cars and our vehicle data provider doesn’t hold enough information for us to quote most of them.

This may be something that changes in the future, but in the meantime you may need specialist imported car insurance.

Happy driving 🚗
