Using Cuvva with an international driving licence

You can get temporary car insurance with Cuvva using a range of international driving licences

Whether you're visiting the UK or already live here, you can use lots of international driving licences to drive a UK-registered car with Cuvva.

International licences we accept

We can insure drivers with UK licences (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland) plus full licences from most EU and some non-EU countries. Here's the full list:

Weโ€™re not able to cover licences from:

  • The Channel Islands

  • The Isle of Man

  • Countries not included in the full list above

This is because weโ€™re not able to access licence data from these regions.


Policy length for international drivers

If youโ€™re using an international licence:

  • You can buy policies up to 7 days long

  • You can buy another policy when it ends if you need more time


A quick note on vehicles

Just so you know, you don't need to be a UK citizen to use Cuvva, but the car does need to be registered in the UK.
