Why you might not be able to book ahead
Most of the time, you can choose whether your Cuvva policy starts straight away or later. But there are a few situations where booking ahead isn’t available. Here are the most common reasons:
1. You didn’t upload a vehicle photo for a previous policy
If you choose a start time in the future, you don't need to take a photo right away because the policy might not start for hours, days, or weeks. But we usually do need a photo right before the policy starts (although just so you know, this doesn't happen every time, so don't worry if you aren't asked to take a photo). This helps us check the car’s condition before you drive.
If you skip this step, booking ahead might be turned off for you. That means:
Any future policies must start immediately
You’ll need to upload the vehicle photo before you can buy
2. Your location didn’t match
When you book ahead, we’ll ask you where your trip will start. You must be at that location when the policy begins, and being somewhere else could affect any claims you make.
If your location doesn’t match more than once, we may remove your ability to book ahead in the future.
3. You’re using a licence from outside England, Scotland or Wales
You can only book ahead using a driving licence issued in Britain (England, Scotland or Wales).
If you have an international licence, or one issued in Northern Ireland, you can only buy policies that start immediately.
