We offer short-term car insurance from 1 hour up to 28 days. You can choose a policy that starts:
Immediately, or
Anytime within the next 28 days
Getting a quote for a future policy
To get a quote for a policy that starts in the future:
Enter the car’s number plate.
Tap the start time.
Select 'Choose time' and pick when you'd like your policy to begin and end.
Choosing your starting location
For book-ahead policies, you’ll also need to choose where you’ll start your trip.
This should be the location you’ll be in when you start driving, not where you are when you buy the policy.
To do this:
Tap Add your starting location
Enter the postcode or select the spot on the map
Taking a photo of the car
You may be asked to take a photo of the car around the time the policy starts.
The car will need to be in the area you selected as your starting location.
Just so you know: you won’t always be asked for a photo on book-ahead policies, so don’t worry if the app doesn’t ask you.
Changing or cancelling a future policy
Unlike our instant policies, for policies that start in the future we can cancel it for you if your plans change and you no longer need it. We can't change the start time or move it forward once it's booked, though.
