Why you may not be able to book ahead

Here's why you can sometimes only buy policies that start right away

From time to time, we may occasionally restrict your ability to book a policy that starts in the future.

If that happens, we’ll always send you a message to let you know why, but here are some of the most common reasons.

You failed to upload a vehicle photo

When you book ahead (i.e. you choose your policy to start in the future rather than right away), you need to send us a photo of the vehicle before your policy starts.

This is compulsory as it helps us see the condition of the vehicle before you drive.

If you fail to send a vehicle photo on more than one occasion, we may prevent you from booking ahead in future. This means any policy you buy going forward must start at the time of payment, and you’ll need to send a vehicle photo before you can buy.

Your trip started in the wrong location

When you book ahead, we ask you to tell us where your trip will start.

It’s important to be in this location when your policy starts. If not, it could affect the outcome of any claims you make.

If you fail to be in the right location on more than one occasion, we may prevent you from booking ahead in the future.
