How to get a quote and buy a policy

How to get a quote and buy a policy - plus what you'll need

It only takes a few minutes to get a temporary car insurance quote with Cuvva.

Download the app

Everything happens in the Cuvva app. You can:

  • Get a quote

  • Buy and extend a policy

  • Borrow or lend a car

  • View your policy documents

When you sign up, make sure the account is in the driver’s name.

You can’t buy a policy for someone else, so if you’re not the driver, they’ll need to take over.

What you'll need

To buy a Cuvva policy, you'll need

  • The Cuvva app

  • A form of ID

  • A UK debit/credit card to make the payment

  • A driving licence (either from the UK or an international licence from most countries in the EU and some outside it)

Get a quote and buy a policy

If we can offer you a quote, you’ll just need to:

  • Verify your identity with a photo of your ID and a live selfie

  • Take a photo of the vehicle (in some cases)

  • Declare any incidents from the past 5 years

  • Pay using a debit card

Once that’s done, plus a few other quick bits, you’re insured.

Your cover can start straight away, or at a time in the future that suits you.

If you don’t get a quote

We can’t cover everyone or every car.

If we’re not able to offer you a quote, the app will usually explain why.

How your price is worked out

Your quote price is based on a range of factors, including:

  • Your age

  • Driving history

  • Location

  • The vehicle

  • Time of day

Fully comprehensive cover

All Cuvva policies are fully comprehensive.

That means you’re covered for:

  • Damage to your vehicle

  • Damage to other vehicles

  • Injury to other people
